2018 Montana’s Next Generation Conference

January 26 and 27, 2018, in Shelby, MT

Registration:  http://msuextension.org/glacier/

  • Friday, January 26 at the Shelby Civic Center

    • Elaine Froese, family farm coach and farmer from Manitoba will discuss, Your Farm, Your Family, Your Choice,” a talk designed for farmers and ranchers of all generations. Froese will speak about how to keep communication lines open in day-to-day family-business operations, manage a successful multigenerational operation and share what has worked on individual family farms.  I saw her at Grain Growers in 2014 and thought she was excellent and in looking through a couple of her books ‘Do the Tough Things Right’ and ‘ Farming’s In-Law Factor,’ it’s clear she has some great material that covers everything from finances (family living expenses, what does your lifestyle cost, etc.) to family fight dynamics to fairness, farm estate issues, etc.  Check out her website at http://elainefroese.com/.

    • Amanda Radke, South Dakota rancher, blogger, contributor to the BEEF magazine, children’s book author (Levi’s Lost Calf book), will keynote the evening session and share how her family operation has made way for her and her husband to come back to the ranch.  Check her out athttp://www.beefmagazine.com/blogger/amanda-radke.
